Thundeer is a reindeer that got struck by lightning and lived, turning his body transparent and exposing his skeleton, making him look like a terrifying ghost reindeer. Burning Memories, Unending Nightmare, Ceaseless Torment.these kinds of phrases seem to imply that Sergeant Hull Head is very much aware of his situation, and likely able to feel the pain of radiation with every second of his existence. Even worse is the names of some of his moves. Even worse, his corpse was later exposed to radiation from nuclear bombs, and he rose back to life as a zombie. When Zimnyaya's side was forced to surrender the war, Hull Head's side forgot to rescue him, and with the only person feeding him gone, he ended up starving to death in his prison bunker. Hull Head was a prisoner, imprisoned by his enemy Zimnyaya during the World Water War. On the other end of the spectrum, Sergeant Hull Head is a monster that doesn't look all that horrifying until you read his description, or especially his full backstory. It looks like something straight out of Resident Evil, for god's sake! 
In case you don't have a stomach of steel or want to sleep tonight, Krugbo is a positively disgusting horror with entirely black skin, spider limbs all over, and razor-sharp teeth-filled mouths everywhere on its body, ( some of which also have eyes inside them). The absolute worst, however, in terms of appearance, has to be Krugbo. ( though he thankfully seems to be benevolent). Yilitre is an all-powerful entity that can see all of time at once, and has way too many fucking eyes all over his body. Montauk Creature also tortures people in their sleep until they are weakened from insomnia, when she then presumably feeds on them. Faugnar is a terrible, villainous man who was stopped by an anonymous hero until he learned how to become entirely made of smoke. Jasastur is a creature with spider legs on its tail, a tentacle for a face that bears a massive fanged maw and no eyes whatsoever, who used to exist only in terrible nightmares until a witch accidentally brought it to life in her sleep. However, some of the worst have to be the Abominations, categorized by their special trait (which eventually became more widespread).
Obviously, several Dark monsters are going to provide plenty of scares. Sometimes, it gets so bad, it can bring into question if it should even still considered a game for kids in the first place. However, as you obtain better and later-made monsters and read their descriptions, you'll find that this game can get surprisingly disturbing on several occasions, especially with certain Legendary or Mythic monsters. 
Monster Legends may just seem like a kiddy game with no skeletons in its closet at first.
